PRODUCT INFORMATION

The Arctic Bay Alaska Parka is a true extreme winter coat, engineered for the coldest climates on Earth and proudly Made in Canada. Designed for harsh Canadian winters and inspired by Arctic conditions, this parka delivers uncompromising warmth, protection, and refinement in one commanding silhouette.

From Northern Canada and the Arctic regions to major winter cities like Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and Quebec, the Alaska Parka is trusted by those who refuse to compromise when temperatures drop to their limits. This is not a seasonal fashion piece — it is a professional-grade winter parka, built for real cold, real wind, and real winter life.

Rated for temperatures as low as -45°C / -49°F, the Alaska Parka stands as one of Arctic Bay’s most protective and technically advanced designs — created for long outdoor exposure, extreme conditions, and decades of wear.

Designed for Canada’s Coldest Regions

The Alaska Parka was developed in Canada, where winter is not an inconvenience — it is a reality. Every detail is engineered to perform in sub-zero temperatures, high winds, blowing snow, and prolonged exposure to cold.

Its extended length and expedition-grade construction provide full-body protection, making it ideal for long commutes, outdoor work, winter travel, and life in extreme cold climates. Whether facing Arctic winds in Northern territories or deep winter storms in urban environments, the Alaska Parka offers consistent thermal protection without sacrificing mobility or comfort.

Unlike mass-produced winter coats, this parka is designed with a clear purpose: to protect the wearer when conditions are at their worst. The result is a winter coat that performs reliably across Canada’s most demanding environments — from remote regions to modern city streets.

Expedition-Level Warmth with Premium Canadian Down

At the core of the Alaska Parka is 725 fill power premium Canadian duck down, delivering exceptional warmth while remaining lightweight and breathable. This high-loft insulation traps heat efficiently, allowing the parka to maintain warmth without unnecessary bulk — a key advantage in extreme winter conditions.

A free-hanging quilted downproof lining ensures even down distribution throughout the coat, eliminating cold spots and preventing feather leakage — a common flaw in lower-quality winter jackets. This advanced internal construction maintains consistent insulation, even during extended wear.

Combined with its extreme cold rating of -45°C / -49°F, the Alaska Parka provides dependable warmth for long periods outdoors, making it a trusted choice for those who need serious winter protection without compromise.

Advanced Weather Protection & Performance Outer Shell

The Alaska Parka is built to defend against the most punishing winter conditions. Its 70% nylon / 30% cotton breathable outer shell is both windproof and waterproof, providing a durable barrier against snow, freezing rain, and Arctic winds while remaining breathable during extended wear.

This performance-driven fabric allows moisture to escape while blocking external elements — preventing overheating indoors and chilling outdoors. Reinforced stitching and premium construction ensure long-term durability, even in extreme environments where lesser winter coats fail.

Designed for real Canadian winters, this outer shell maintains structure, comfort, and protection season after season, making the Alaska Parka a dependable expedition-grade winter coat rather than a disposable fashion item.

Engineered Hood System & Natural Fur Protection

The Alaska Parka features a removable, down-filled hood engineered for maximum face and head protection in extreme cold. A moldable in-hood framing wire allows the hood to be shaped precisely around the face, maintaining visibility and stability in strong winds — a critical feature for Arctic and sub-Arctic conditions.

For superior natural insulation, the parka is finished with a premium Canadian coyote fur ruff, designed to reduce wind penetration and frost buildup around the face. This is complemented by a soft black Canadian beaver fur chin guard (NAFA origin), offering exceptional comfort and protection where cold exposure is most intense.

Unlike synthetic alternatives, these natural furs create a microclimate around the face, dramatically improving warmth, breathability, and frost resistance — a key reason why natural fur remains essential in extreme cold weather parkas.

Precision Construction & Functional Luxury Details

Every element of the Alaska Parka is designed for performance, longevity, and refined utility. A YKK two-way center front zipper allows for flexible movement and ventilation, while two-way side seam zippers improve mobility during long walks or seated wear.

The interior features a free-hanging quilted downproof lining, ensuring even insulation distribution and eliminating cold spots. Premium leather trim details and branded hardware reflect Arctic Bay’s commitment to luxury craftsmanship without compromising function.

Security is ensured through an authenticity hologram with a unique identifier, guaranteeing originality and reinforcing the parka’s premium status. From reinforced stress points to thoughtfully placed pockets, every detail serves a purpose — delivering a winter coat that performs at the highest level while maintaining a refined, timeless aesthetic.

Built for Mobility, Comfort & Everyday Extreme Use

Despite its expedition-level warmth, the Alaska Parka is engineered for everyday comfort and unrestricted movement. The two-way YKK front zipper and two-way side seam zippers allow for easy walking, sitting, and extended wear — whether navigating icy city streets, commuting, or spending long hours outdoors.

The free-hanging quilted downproof lining ensures even down distribution throughout the body, eliminating cold spots while maintaining breathability. This intelligent construction allows the parka to adapt to changing environments, keeping you warm outside and comfortable indoors without excessive bulk.

Every design choice prioritizes balance — delivering the protection of a true Arctic parka with the wearability required for daily life in Canada’s coldest regions.

Why the Alaska Parka Outperforms Competitors

Many winter coats claim extreme warmth — few are built to deliver it consistently. The Alaska Parka stands apart through its authentic Canadian manufacturing, premium materials, and uncompromising construction standards.

Unlike mass-produced parkas made overseas, the Alaska Parka is Made in Canada, designed and tested in real winter conditions. Its 725 fill power Canadian duck down, natural coyote fur ruff, NAFA-certified Canadian beaver fur chin guard, and expedition-grade outer shell outperform synthetic alternatives in warmth, durability, and longevity.

Where competitors rely on marketing claims, the Alaska Parka relies on proven materials, functional engineering, and heritage craftsmanship — making it a true investment piece rather than a seasonal purchase.

    How to measure

Find some old jacket or coat, which you know for sure fits well, preferably of similar construction - down filled garment.  Lay it face down on a flat surface. Measure at the locations shown by the red arrows. When measuring, stretch the fabric slightly to get correct numbers.  Then compare your measurements with sizing chart to find the closest size. When between numbers, choose size which is closer to your measurement. But be mindful of your preferred fit, choose larger size for looser fit and smaller for tighter fit. Also, the numbers in the sizing chart are average size numbers and can vary slightly up or down.

Shoulders - across the back, between the shoulder seams
Chest - across the back, 3 cm below the armpits
Waist -  across the back, the narrowest part of jacket body
Sleeve - from center back to the sleeve hem (not including ribbed cuff)
Length - from the neck seam to the bottom hem
