For Arctic Bay, “Made in Canada” is more than a line on the label.

Arctic Bay currently describes its outerwear as proudly made in Canada, with production in Winnipeg and Montreal. Across current product pages, the brand emphasizes Canadian craftsmanship, cold-weather expertise and attention to construction.

Built Where Winter Is Understood

Canadian winters demand more from outerwear.

Cold temperatures, wind, snow and changing conditions mean that warmth depends on more than insulation alone. A winter parka also needs thoughtful construction, reliable closures, appropriate coverage and materials suited to the environment.

That is why Arctic Bay focuses on the complete garment.

Depending on the model, current Arctic Bay parkas may include features such as 725-fill Canadian duck down, breathable downproof linings, TrueNorth™ shell fabric, YKK® two-way zippers, wind flaps, telescopic sleeves and storm or rib-knit cuffs.

These details work together to create a coat designed for serious winter use.

Canadian-Made Does Not Mean Every Component Comes From Canada

Transparency matters.

A parka can be made in Canada while using carefully selected materials or components sourced elsewhere.

For example, Arctic Bay’s current TrueNorth™ shell is a 152 GSM woven fabric made from 70% nylon and 30% cotton. Current product pages identify that shell fabric as made in the USA and describe it as water-, wind- and stain-resistant with a water-repellent finish.

That distinction is important.

“Made in Canada” describes where the finished garment is manufactured. It should not be interpreted as a claim that every fibre, zipper, fabric or component originates in Canada.

Craftsmanship Is in the Details

Much of what determines the quality of a winter parka is not immediately visible in a product photo.

Look closely and you begin to see the system behind the coat:

the way insulation is contained;

the way cuffs limit drafts;

the way a hood provides coverage;

the way a zipper and wind flap protect the centre opening;

and the way the garment moves when worn.

Current Arctic Bay models show these principles in different combinations.

The Montreal Parka, for example, combines 725-fill Canadian duck down with a breathable downproof liner, TrueNorth™ shell, telescopic sleeves with storm cuffs, a wind flap and a YKK® two-way zipper. It is made in Canada.

Different Winters Need Different Solutions

Made in Canada does not mean every Arctic Bay parka is constructed in exactly the same way.

The Vancouver Parka takes a different approach from the brand’s down-insulated models.

It uses PrimaLoft® Continuous Fibre synthetic insulation and is designed without natural down or fur. It is also made in Canada.
